I flew in from Idaho and met a friend flying to Salt Lake from the Oregon coast. We had the famous milkshakes and stayed in the old hotel. Glad we brought some ribeyes to grill since the cafe closes early. Great little place for a quick trip. Definitely be back for milkshakes and breakfast.

In about 2022 my brother and I came to town. Loved the area, Steens Mt and Alvord Desert and of course Fields. I had a Coffee/Toffee Shake. It was delicious! This is a rustic place. The bathroom worked, I filled my tank and I could not have been more pleased. Hopefully, I'll return someday to the middle of nowhere, Fields Oregon. Oh ya, I got a t-shirt too.

I felt compelled to leave a positive review after seeing all the negative ones. I was here a few years back on a trip around the high desert while visiting a friend who lived in Portland. We had camped on the Alvord and then went for a hike, so we were nearly drooling thinking about the burgers and shakes that awaited us. They were everything my friend promised they would be, what a blissful meal after camping and hiking in the desert! I found the staff to be perfectly pleasant - but, then, I’ve worked food service in a tourist town, so I know how important it is to be kind and patient. I also understand that the prices reflect the difficulty of getting food and gas all the way out there, so it’s perfectly reasonable. I’m glad y’all are out there doing what you do - the fact that it’s a labor of love absolutely shows for those that are willing to see it. I’ll definitely be back the next time I’m out that way!

We visited Field's Station on our way to Alvord Desert from Steens. We had heard a lot about their classic milkshakes. We ordered aC milkshake and Wally's special which was hash brown with cheddar, scrambled eggs, sourdough toast and salsa. We were sitting on the counter and food was prepared fresh right in front of us. It was such an amazing experience and the breakfast was amazing. It felt nice to have a warm breakfast after 2 days of camping. You also can fill gas here. The lady at the counter was very helpful and kind. You can also get some groceries and liquor at this place and I noticed there was a motel as well next to it. Overall it was a nice experience to have breakfast and milkshake at a place which has been running since 1881. Would definitely love to visit again.

Love Fields Station milkshakes! They say they are world famous, and they are! I had my first milkshake at Fields Station almost 45 years ago and always look forward to stopping for one when I'm in the area. There are so many flavors there is bound to be one that appeals to your palette. The 3Cs shake (chocolate, caramel & coffee) is a winner! Super Yummy!

Just stayed for a night at The Old Hotel. Had the milkshake experience and breakfast the following morning. Food: The milkshakes were delicious. Looked for prices and didn't find them on the posts, I think it ended up being $8.70 each, I think, but they were very generous and served in a steel cup as traditional. Lots of different flavors to choose from. There were a couple of people in front of us; took about ~10-15 minutes it felt like to get ours, but we had a big group. Service is friendly and efficient. Not a lot of workers, but they're fast and know what they're doing. Very helpful in talking through attractions in the area. Very polite and communicative. Breakfast was both very traditional and pretty reasonable (didn't see prices, but ~$70 for a group of six.) Filling, tasty, simple. I got the hashbrowns, bacon and eggs (the Corey?) with wheat toast. Once again, we had a large group so that was a factor. Hotel: We stayed in The Old Hotel with a big group of us. Pretty rudimentary (bring your games) but for a 4 bedroom suite (?), $200 isn't bad at all. Beds are fine, room needed a little airing out. No air conditioning, but that was fine. A good getaway/overnight stop in Fields, Oregon. No wifi, no utensils, but a full-size refrigerator, microwave and tables in the room. A fine place for a family to unplug.

I'm not sure what others are complaining about. Honestly, from the moment I stepped inside, the girl at the counter was kind and considerate. She even shared a bit of the history of Fields, Oregon with me. I ordered a burger and fries, and as I could clearly see from the counter, they were making everything fresh. Naturally, that takes a little time. While I waited, I found a hat, a coffee cup, and some drinks I wanted. Again, the staff were friendly and helpful. She even offered to open the door so I could put my items in the car. As I watched, they called out orders when they were ready. On the table were ketchup, mustard, and napkins. I’m not sure why anyone would find that confusing. It seemed perfectly practical to me. Also worth mentioning, there is a large sign above the liquor section clearly stating that Oregon law requires ID for all alcohol purchases, so that shouldn't surprise anyone. All in all, I had a great experience. The staff were helpful, kind, and welcoming. I really appreciate your little place. It’s a small piece of heaven in this world.

Middle of nowhere and better than it has any right to be! Fields Station appeared like a mirage out of the desert and impressed us with delicious milkshakes, wonderful burgers, and convenient gas. A highlight of our trip to SE Oregon. More affordable than we expected
